BCP Council launched Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival in 2011 with the festival becoming an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in 2015. The festival attracts over 130,000 attendees across two days each year.

The Brief

Working with a multitude of stakeholders, including local government agencies and national portfolio managers, HotShot was required to deliver strategic content that communicated the festival objectives to new audiences, funding managers, potential sponsors and increased overall awareness of the festival.

The Delivery

Overseeing all content creation and delivery, Hotshot, developed multiple campaigns to connect with various stakeholders that contributed towards local authority and festival objectives. From engagement opportunities through digitally distributed workbooks to promotional campaigns supporting artists and local causes, HotShot creates a wide array of images, graphics, animations, videos and live streams to market the festival.

The Results

The Arts by the Sea Festival’s social media channels were viewed over 140,000 times during the festival weekend, and the event attracted over 130,000 visitors across two days. Festival data shows a significant growth in previously under-engaged audiences. During our relationship with BCP Council, HotShot has increased the festivals social following by 300%, facilitating more cost-effective communications during future events.
