The Great Place Scheme is a National Lottery-funded programme which responds to the government’s 2016 Culture White Paper. The scheme ensures local investment in arts and culture.

The Brief

Situated in the spectacular Wentworth Woodhouse, The Great Place scheme approached HotShot to design event artwork and assets that would attract and facilitate thousands of visitors to WE Wonder Festival. The festival hosted leading outdoor arts performances in partnership with Without Walls and interactive workshops for families to explore nature, creativity and heritage in new ways.

The Delivery

HotShot developed an immersive illustration that encapsulated the creativity and fun elements of the festival while incorporating a level of mystery. A family-friendly design was produced to allow different aspects of the artwork to be animated to communicate with different audiences across digital platforms. HotShot also created an in-depth festival brochure highlighting the event schedule, site map and artist profiles.

The Results

WE Wonder Festival sold out over 2000 tickets and generated significant press online engagement through the utilisation of the animations. Following the success of the festival, WE Wonder Festival launched WE Wonder Noir Festival, showcasing unmissable film and visual spectaculars and art installations at night.
